Public hospital

Ceiling mold, Hospital Pasteur, Montevideo Uruguay

Ceiling in patients’ bathroom. Much evidence elsewhere of delayed maintenance. But, for my friend, 33 days and zero cost. So.

(If you like this sort of thing, you’ll love my photo tour of the legendary Hotel Termas in Argentina!)

    1. I got better care there than I EVER did in USA. There are no toilet seats, and patients have to supply their own paper, blankets, pillows, and any toiletries. I felt that Pasteur put any USA hospital to shame, including Mass General.

      1. Point well made. Once you leave the Land of the Untied Snakes, you might have occasion – as you did – to realize that the word “care” actually means something here, as it doesn’t there. (We felt the same in Mexico.) One funny thing with Tex was his complaining – in an Uruguayan public hospital! – about how much they (the interns/nurse trainees) were fussing over him!
