A shitload of dogs
Sorry, really can’t think of a more appropriate way to say it.
That’s my dog Mocha in the foreground with the purple color, making friends with a very pretty (but very loud when in his fenced yard) neighbor dog. Lea (white) and Sophia are Syd’s dogs which he appears to be bending over to, but in fact his target is a lively little brown guy whose working name is Puppy. Behind him is Little Guy, whose name from a year ago probably needs rethinking. The black dog is Jordan, and the white one with black ears and tail up is Street Dog. It is quite honestly amazing he is still alive since his favorite place to nap is in the middle of the road. To the right is Carbón, the name his putative owners gave him, but since he never responds to that, he remains Fuzzy Dog to us.
As you can see, it rained earlier, irrelevant to this narrative but very much needed.

My first attempt at bread with a new sourdough starter was not a roaring success, so I ended up with small pieces of toast for breakfast (at noon). What more fitting to go along with them than an egg with two yolks?

New beach steps
It’s been many months since I’ve been to the beach – surprised to see a whole new structure built to protect the dunes.
Quite elaborately done, in fact. The first ones they did were generally a disaster. They’ve learned.

Major drain work
New culverts on the Playa Mansa now that tourist season is over. I only knew there was a problem from walking the dog on the beach there once in the past year.
Note the raging surf. Quite amazing to have no waves when the closest landfall looking this direction is over 3,000 kilometers away.
Evening light
It was like a summer day today – little kids on swings in the nearby park with no shirts. But it’s clear and noticeably cooling. It will probably be quite cold tomorrow when the workers arrive at 0700 (which is why the car is parked outside).

Roofless
Our cochera gets a new maintenance-free roof tomorrow. And it’s earth-friendly, because nothing says “ecology” like a product that’s 99% expanded polystyrene.
