An inquisitive old fart with a camera
Well, it’s gotten a new lease on life.
I should have taken a photo yesterday when I saw the owner painting it…with a paint roller.
Years ago I took a picture of the staggering number of colors a VW Beetle had been painted:
Maybe somewhere I have a photo of a car (we saw more than one when we first moved here) that had been painted with a brush.
OK, the pool didn’t work. But the kiddos will love this, eh? Might have to cut down the avocado trees in the backyard to make room for it, but small sacrifice―look at those happy faces! And for only $1,599!
Darn it all!
But it’s got me thinking….
The perfect thing for our back yard! A blue dolphin with a thermometer in its mouth, and a carrot arch! It even says “joy” on the side! Of course I ordered it!
And I saved money! And think how much I can save by eating Burger King® glop every day!
Oh darn!
Yesterday, using my franquicia, an up to USD 200 3x per year tax-free import, I placed an order with Walmart. Not that I like Walmart, but I didn’t want to order everything from Amazon, because Amazon. Alas, within six minutes of placing the order , Walmart cancelled it.
No appeal, no explanation.
Rather than get upset with Walmart, I decided I should try again today.
Alas again, no luck with a stuffed unicorn. What’s a fella to do?
From a few days ago.
When we replaced the rotting roof of the cochera (carport) I ended up with lots of scrap wood. Instead of the expense and hassle of getting proper windows installed―after all, all I wanted is to keep rain out―I slapped together a frame with some sheet plastic (“nylon” in the local parlance).
Well, Uruguay is nothing if not windy, and they quickly succumbed. So: Plan B, sheet plastic with plastic netting on either side. I’m only doing one, as a test, for some reason.
Total weight 3.7 kg – 8 lbs 2 oz.
No, dumpster is not a word in Spanish. But if it were, a lot of them would be dumpsteres.
And suddenly there are a lot of them in a field near the “Yacht” Club Club in Atlántida.
It’s fun to extrapolate: what might other aspects of this person’s life look like? Yard? Kitchen drawers? Closets? Note that there are no apparent dents in the vehicle, so that’s something.
