…when you spread jam on fresh toast it tastes like pond scum…
…no worrying about whether it’s moldy, because you’ll never be able to tell.
Definitely bolsters my faith in humanity to know that someone, somewhere, thought this was a good idea.

Mid-winter, fresh veggies from the feria (street market) a couple days ago. I threw all this and more into my own bag in order to bring home as little plastic as possible. Most of the vendors just love putting everything in plastic bags.
Our avocado harvests are always a crapshoot. One year, both trees producing; one year nothing; and this year one producing and one not. This year’s relative paucity has not diminished the appetite of the birds. Before mowing the lawn, I picked up the remains of 19 paltas, probably 10 kilos worth originally.
Two days later, there’s this on the ground. It would have weighed 600-800 grams before the critters.
If I told you I took this photo in the morning, and you had spent any time in Uruguay, you would know what day of the week it was.
Yes, that is one big avocado (aquacate in Mexico; palta here). In fact, our biggest ever (by far). 1,094 grams, or, for those of you who live in Liberia, Myanmar, or the United States, 2 pounds 6-½ ounces.
Nothing more to add.
Decadent! Delicious! And in the toaster oven for lunch the next day 😉
Squash
Yes, that is an avocado I harvested today that weighs 945 grams, or 2 pounds 1.3 ounces.
