Design?

I can say many things about our neighbors’ remodel and addition, but few of them will involve the concept of “well thought out.” For example, the placement of the huge sliding glass doors on the only place in the wall that guarantees I look into their house every time I water my container plants (beneath chimney). And to the chimney’s left, numerous layers of shiny metallic waterproofing to counter the roof’s poor design. The lack of obvious firewood storage for the immense wood stove they installed. And the cochera (carport) rendered unusable by the intrusion of the new construction.

Not to mention a new carport that shields vehicles from the sun only kinda, sorta, in the late afternoon. The fabric roof of which didn’t do too well in last night’s wind.

She

Since our neighbors opened their minimercado a year ago. their outside summer-shade sitting area has increasingly become a repository of store-related items, including this display case, which fortunately I see only when I get close to the wall.

That face. I absolutely do not like that face. The pinched smirky mouth. The eyebrows that seem raised, as if she sees something surprising in you. But not pleasant, because she’s not smiling. And those bulging eyes. Remind me of, yeah,

alleged school shooters.

And now I want to know if she’s a real person. Does she have a firearm? Is she on prescription drugs?

As if Hotmail isn’t bad enough

I ordered a chivito for delivery from Restaurante Don Vito, and it came with the thermal-ink printout inside the box with the food. Since thermal ink is toxic, and Argentine thermal ink (presumably this) is 90 times more toxic than what is allowed in Europe, I reported this to the email address on their web site. Which bounced.

So I went by and explained both issues, received an apology, and was given the correct email address, which fortunately the lady read aloud to me. Because…

…seriously?

I mean really, SERIOUSLY?

Quite the flight path

On the dog walk, a small twin engine jet went over quite low, headed northeast, which would mean maybe Porto Alegre as its destination. I thought I might look at FlightRadar24 when I got back, but forgot all about it until the same plane flew overhead, equally low, heading southeast out over the water.

But it’s a Brazilian Air Force plane, so I’m sure everything is completely normal.
