An inquisitive old fart with a camera

I was aware of four passes overhead today of the Uruguayan Air forces complete inventory of KC-130 Hercules aircraft. Mocha the dog did not approve of these unauthorized airspace intruders.
Why? Training, I suppose. Note that the first test flight of a KC-130 was in January 1960. I love that the aircraft of the Uruguayan Air Force are all models introduced over 50 years ago, one exception being the Embraer EMB 120 Brasilia, introduced “only” 40 years ago.

A happy little family in a cow pie.

I’ll have a slice of pizza. Please make sure it’s smiling.

Yummy.

Hot today. This in the shade in our back yard.

Very few people on the beach midday (considerably more at 6 PM when I drove by again). Except for the utter lack of waves, the river that doesn’t flow* looked like an ocean with that extremely rare blue hue today.
*for the locals, the estuary of the Rio de la Plata is a river. Don’t even try…it’s non-negotiable.

Go ahead, try to make some sense of this!
I bought jamon Media Cura, cream cheese (yes, called that), Roquefort (Azul-blue cheese), muzzarella, and Colonia cheese.

While yet another large vendor has bailed from our local feria, the one in nearby Salinas is thriving. This morning I saw an outside barber shop. I have never seen such a thing before. A haircut was advertised at $150 (~USD 3.80). I normally pay 240 (~6.00) and have to make an appointment, so I thought why not – the difference between a good haircut and a bad haircut is two weeks anyway.
My goodness! This was perhaps the most meticulous haircut I’ve ever had, including eyebrows, nose, ears and endless clip-clip-clip. You’d think they would want to crank through customers at that price, but it must have been 20 minutes. (Hot minutes despite the breeze, I might add.) Using two different electric trimmers alone seemed to take more time than my entire haircut normally does.
Amazing.
