Local (Uruguay) campers. Looks like they’ve got it all sorted – solar panels, side awning, sun protection for the truck. There was a couple sitting with a little portable table between the two vehicles.
But: covering the tires to protect them from the sun? I guess maybe a good idea, but I’ve never, ever seen that before!
What is the idea? Rubber deteriorating in the sun? If so, how do piles of old tires last forever? Seems misguided, but this is Uruguay.
Unless those covers have UV-C protection, which is highly unlikely, they have no effect except for maybe keeping windblown sand out of the treads.
I’d be more concerned about that sagging passenger’s side front coil spring then about whether my tires were covered or not.
You’re simply demonstrating that you’re not Uruguayan 😉
