A friend said he had some lemons from his tree for me. He said they were big.
I guess so. The biggest are the size of grapefruits.

Just love the lemons in Uruguay. Your own tree must be nearing ready to produce a ton more, no?
We have a new batch of green ones coming along. Still a small tree; a “ton” is a little strong…
I was in southern Italy a couple of years ago and I think it was at Amalfi, that I spotted a basket of HUGE lemons. They told me they were “cedri”. I never tasted them so I don’t know if they taste like lemons, but they were definitely of the citrus family. Maybe that is what you have there?
Even though he lives only a couple blocks away, I rarely see or hear from this guy anymore (nor does anyone else, apparently), so I can’t report on whether this was a one-off harvest or typical. Another interesting one to follow up on when the opportunity presents itself.
